Faded Fluorescence

A loving homage to the world's first video game, narrative designer, Mabel Addis. There are two layers to the experience. The top layer is a classic, mainframe terminal, kingdom simulator. The second layer is a hidden sequence of fictional vignettes about the 6th graders who participated in the first test study of The Sumerian Game, in 1964.

Decipher clues to reveal their lost-in-time moments, represented by screen-burn-in, on the game's virtual, computer terminal. Each revealed moment advances their story, and provides tips about optimizing the simulation. Can you reveal them all, while growing your kingdom and averting disaster?

Created during IndieCade's Hidden Heroes game jam.

I tried to starve the peasants and overpay the soldiers to con more suckers into joining the army.  It didn't work.  They rioted and killed me.
